Once again, it was incredible to see the impact that Kingdom Racing had on fans outside the turnstiles on Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway. Our ministry outreach on race day was inspirational and uplifting in ways unimaginable. Wherever the INDYCAR Series travels, the fantastic ministry and outreach opportunity that TMS provides goes right alongside. And that is incredible testimony, dwarfing whatever racing action is going on inside the facility.
For the 2012 Firestone 550, Kingdom Racing invited a partnership with an amazing local congregation, Marine Creek Church in North Fort Worth. The “Creek” praise band, of Ryan, Adam, and Dan came out and provided a superb four-hour acoustic set throughout our presence on the TMS midway. They took but a single ten-minute break in that span. The Christian music they produced was beautiful. It was so great to look out on the crowd and see fans locked in praise and singing right along with them. The spiritual impact was real and deep. Fans drawn in by the music and show car were met with the Message of Christ! How wonderful! To see it take place was spiritually fulfilling for everyone involved. Lives were definitely touched by Him! As an added bonus, we got the pleasure of hosting our dear friends, Joe Petersen and Buck Kern, again to discuss our further partnership this season with Snowball Express. Look for more updates on that in the coming weeks. We're definitely excited!
In addition to the band, two members of Marine Creek, Kevin Groth and Dave Tatsak, joined up with our own Bill Edwards to hand out hero cards to the fans passing by our tent. As I watched the team work and plant seeds for the Lord, I could not help but think how great and immeasurable the impact was for His kingdom. Davey Hamilton stopped by and spent about 30 minutes signing hero cards for fans and posed for pictures with them. Time and again, we heard folks thank us for bringing a Christian ministry to the race track and standing up for our faith at such an event. That message came not only from fans, but also from workers at nearby tents. They took time out of what they were doing to thank Kingdom Racing for being there. It means a lot to hear that and it never gets old.
Quite simply, we love coming to Texas Motor Speedway. This is a home race for us and one where the Kingdom Racing ministry shines brightly. Inside the track, it was enthralling to see Simon Pagenaud battle through the field to finish in sixth place for Schmidt Hamilton Motorsports. This moved him and the team up to fifth in the overall championship standings.
Kingdom Racing, Marine Creek Church, Fiesta Mart, GDC Trading, and Schmidt Hamilton Motorsports banded together to deliver a phenomenal outreach for the Lord this past weekend and may all praise be to God for what He did at TMS in 2012!
All for Him, we are… KR!
